Automobiles in German Town Discovered Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Police say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then found many other marked cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis suggest the substance was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials announced they were attempting "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the public for information.

A high-ranking political figure stated the attack made him without words and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
